MotoAmigo Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
0. Summary in plain language
MotoAmigo is an app for motorcyclists: you register your bikes, track maintenance, locate workshops and parts stores, ask for or offer a hand on the road, and share content with other riders. For all of that to work, the app stores certain information about you in a database (Supabase, the infrastructure provider we use — not a third party for marketing purposes) and, at certain specific steps, asks for access to your camera or your location.
MotoAmigo does not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising purposes. The app's business model is a one-time payment on download, plus optional subscriptions, with no ads — we don't need or want to monetize your data.
1. What data we collect
Depending on which feature of the app you use, the following data is collected.
1.1 User profile
A technical profile is created automatically when you use the app (see section 3, "Authentication"). If you choose to fill it out from Settings, the following is stored:
- Name
- Phone number
- Profile photo (if you sign in with Google; see section 3)
The first three fields are optional — the app works without you filling them in.
1.2 My Bikes (My Garage)
For each bike you register: make, model, engine size, year, mileage, color, license plate, bike type, and an optional photo you upload. The maintenance alerts you configure or that the app suggests are also stored.
1.3 Location
MotoAmigo uses your location at specific moments only, never in the background or continuously:
- Map: when you open the map, your position is requested once to center it — that position is not stored on any server.
- MotoAmigo Help — asking for help: your position at that moment is stored, along with the type of problem, an optional description, and your name and photo — these are shown to other MotoAmigo Help users so they can decide whether to help you. Your phone number and your exact location (and your destination, if you're asking for a ride) aren't visible to any other user until someone accepts your request — from that moment on, only that person can see them. While your request is open, other users only see an approximate location (within about a kilometer) and the trip distance. This contact data is deleted once the request is resolved or cancelled.
- MotoAmigo Help — list of requests: your position is used momentarily to calculate distances; it is not stored.
- Register my workshop: "Use my location" saves the business's address, not your personal location.
- Saved pins (Favorites): you type the coordinates in manually, they don't come from your GPS.
1.4 Photos you upload
Photos are stored in Supabase Storage: your bike's photo, your workshop's logo (if you register one), and photos from posts and stories on Social Route. Photos from posts and stories are visible to other users, like on any social network. Stories are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
1.5 Emergency Card (sensitive data)
Inside "Control Center," you can create a completely optional Emergency Card. If you fill it out, the following is stored: rider's name, blood type, and the name and phone number of an emergency contact.
This includes a health data point (blood type), treated as a special category: it is used for no purpose other than showing it to you, and it is entirely optional. Today the Emergency Card doesn't have its own "delete" button in the interface — you can clear its fields by editing it, or request its complete deletion together with the rest of your account (sections 5 and 6).
1.6 Social content (Social Route)
- Posts: text and photos you upload.
- Comments: the text of your comments on other people's posts.
- Likes and saves: which posts you marked.
- Stories: photo + whose it is, with automatic deletion after 24 hours.
- Ratings: score and optional comment when you rate another person or a workshop.
- Reports: the reason chosen and which profile reported it — internal moderation information.
1.7 Favorites
Favorite contacts: mechanics, parts stores, or "MotoAmigos" (fellow riders) that you save — name, phone number, and photo. By saving another person, you're entering a third party's data; it's your responsibility to have their consent, just like saving a contact on your phone. Saved pins: locations with a name and note that you create manually.
1.8 Appointments
If you schedule an appointment, the following is stored: appointment type, contact name, date, time, and optional notes, linked to the bike and the profile that created it.
1.9 Subscriptions
If you activate a paid plan, the following is stored: which plan, country/currency, amount, and status — never your card number or any payment data, that's processed by Google Play Billing outside of MotoAmigo.
2. Who we share data with
MotoAmigo does not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We don't use analytics or advertising tools within the app.
Data is shared only in these cases:
- Supabase (infrastructure provider): they host the data for us, they don't use it for their own purposes.
- Other app users, depending on the feature: posts, comments, stories, and ratings are publicly visible. If you ask for help in MotoAmigo Help, your name and photo are shown to other MotoAmigo Help users; your phone number and your exact location (and destination, for a ride request) are only shown to the person who accepts your request — everyone else sees an approximate location and the trip distance.
- Google: as an optional sign-in provider (see section 3), and as a payment processor (Google Play Billing).
- OpenStreetMap: the Map and address search within the app use it — they receive what you search for, the map area you're viewing, and your IP address.
- Google Maps: opens outside the app, in your browser or the Google Maps app, only when you tap "Get directions" — we don't share any data with it from within MotoAmigo beyond opening that external link.
- Resend: sends account verification emails on our behalf.
- Cloudflare: hosts MotoAmigo's institutional site and the links used to share posts.
- Due to legal obligation, if a competent authority requires it.
3. Authentication
To use MotoAmigo you create a real account with your email and a password (Supabase Auth). Registration requires you to confirm your email before you can log in, and from the login screen you can reset your password if you forget it, in two steps: you request the reset by email and then choose a new one.
You can also sign in directly with your Google account, without creating a separate password. If you choose this option, we ask Google for your email, your name, and your profile photo. We store your name and a link to your photo in your MotoAmigo profile, and your email is tied to your login account and is not shown to other users within the app. Your profile photo is visible to other users wherever your profile is shown, for example in your posts on Social Route. We use this data only to create and display your profile; we don't sell it or use it for advertising.
You can disconnect MotoAmigo from your Google account at any time from the third-party apps and services connections section of your Google account's security settings, or delete your MotoAmigo account directly from Settings (see section 6).
4. Payments
Optional subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing. MotoAmigo does not process or store card data or any financial data directly.
5. Your rights: access, correction, and deletion
You can access most of your data directly within the app, and correct or delete it yourself in most cases.
For requests that can't be resolved from within the app — for example, a complete deletion of your account and all associated data, or a question about what data we have stored — you can write to us at soporte.motoamigo@gmail.com. We also set up a dedicated page for this: Request data deletion.
We'll respond to your request within a maximum of 30 business days.
6. Data retention and account deletion
We keep your data for as long as you use the app or until you request its deletion. A few specific exceptions:
- Stories are automatically deleted 24 hours after being posted.
- If you delete a bike, its associated maintenance alerts and appointments are also deleted.
- If you delete your account, your profile is deleted and, in cascade, the information directly associated with it (bikes, posts, favorites, emergency card, etc.).
Inside Settings there's a "Delete account" button that does this immediately and permanently: it cascade-deletes all your data and also your authentication user, with no extra steps on your part. If you'd rather handle it by email instead of from the app, you can still write to us as explained in section 5.
7. Minors
MotoAmigo is for people over 18. This isn't just a recommendation: it's a requirement you actively confirm, separately from the rest, when creating your account — along with accepting the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy, you also check "I confirm I am over 18 years old"; without both checked you can't create an account. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under that age, we may suspend or delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When that happens, we'll update the "last updated" date and, if the change is significant, notify you within the app.
